Fans of those catchy groovy tunes used for TV and Radio Themes and also for Test Card Transmissions and interlude Music can add these to their collection.
For starters, there's ITV's original theme to Wish You Were Here issued for the first time on CD. There's also two great Radio 2 themes from the 1970s, Carnaby Chick for Radio 2's Two's Best and Eye Catcher for The Early Show.
Plus, released for the very first time ever, you can hear in sparkling stereo the first four tracks from a Test Card Transmission Tape which began with That's How The Hula Was Born played regularly on BBC 1 from 3rd July 1971 to 1st August 1972 (Listen to Tracks 5 to 8 and recreate the magic!)
The CD also features music used by BBC Radio 3 when Test Match Cricket was abandoned when Rain Stopped Play - just listen to Cocktails For Two and Everybody loves Somebody by the Johnny Howard Band, some would say it beats listening to the cricket commentary!
Hopefully, if you have a long list of tunes you fantasize owning then this first CD offering from Codename Music fits the bill, who are also kindly donating profits from this compilation to the registered charity, Winchester Hospital Radio.
This CD compilation costs £10.75 (including p&p) and anyone wishing to purchase a copy of Cocktail Swing should make cheques payable to Winchester Hospital Radio for £10.75 (includes postage and packing) and write their name and mailing address on the back of the cheque. These should be then sent to: Steven Wills at the WHR Studios. All proceeds from the sale of the CDs helps to ensure Winchester Hospital Radio continues to provide our service to patients at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester. WHR has no paid staff, being entirely run by volunteers, so although we make every effort to despatch orders within a week or so, please allow up to 28 days for delivery. Thank you.
