Remember those catchy infectious tunes that you used to hear on the TV before the days of 24 hour broadcasting? The interval music that was played in between programmes for schools? Well now you can take a nostalgic trip back in time and enjoy those tunes again on Winchester Hospital Radio's latest CD release: The Day The TV Stood Still.

This double CD compilation is the latest release on our very own WHR record label. Produced by our volunteer Steven Wills, the music is divided into two CDs: 'Morning' and 'Afternoon' and showcases music from the 60s and 70s heard on daytime TV. It includes tracks from top composers such as Robert Farnon, Roger Webb, Angela Morley and Roger Roger to name a few. There's music from cult TV programmes such as 'The Prisoner', Children's programme 'Vision On' and the popular quiz show 'Ask the Family'.

Steven Wills who has a life-long passion for this sort of music said "I've loved putting this CD compilation together. Nearly all the tunes have remained in the vaults of London Music Publisher 'Chappells' for years. I've brought them to life so people can enjoy these catchy and familiar tunes once again!".

This new CD has already generated much interest. Enquiries have been received from keen customers around the globe. Pre-release sales at the Leominster TV Convention have raised £526 which Steven's employer, Barclays Bank is matching as part of their employee £ for £ scheme, for charitable work. Al profits from the sale of these CDs helps our charity continue to provide a daily visiting and broadcasting service to patients at the RHCH.

The Day The TV Stood Still has also received favourable reviews in respected music magazines such as 'The Record Collector' where David Noades wrote "Never has the phrase 'soundtrack to a generation' been so apt!"

CDs from WHR are proving collectors' items. So people are urged to buy this latest one while stocks last! A previous CD release to raise funds for Winchester Hospital Radio - 'Girl in A Suitcase', has proved so enduringly popular that a used copy fetched £115 on e-Bay!
